Easy Treats for Children's Parties – The Freshest Summer Birthday Ideas
Summer, sunshine, and birthdays – what a perfect combination! How to conjure up easy treats and snacks for children's parties? Believe it or not, children's party treats can be both delicious and fun, without stress or lengthy preparations. In this blog, we share tips on how to easily create fresh and visually appealing treats for summer parties.
And best of all – when you choose a party box as the theme, the entire party's look is already taken care of. You just need to complement the ensemble with suitable treats. 💛
Fun and Easy-to-Make Party Treats
At a children's party table, the most important thing is not extravagant and complicated treats – but joy, ease, and offerings that genuinely appeal to the little partygoers. Here are some tried and popular ideas, some of which can be prepared in a flash, and some can even be a fun activity for the party day!
1. Colorful Fruit Skewers
Chop watermelon, banana, grapes, and even pineapple, or whatever other delicious fruit you fancy. Thread them onto a skewer and arrange them beautifully, for example, in a serving dish. A striking, healthy, and easy-to-eat treat.
If you don't have long skewers, you can also do this with toothpicks. In this case, put a few pieces of fruit on a toothpick and stick the toothpick into half a watermelon. You'll get a lovely and cute watermelon cake at the same time.
2. Muffins for Children – Decoration Can Be Part of the Program
Bake a simple muffin batter in a muffin tin of your desired look, or buy ready-made ones from the store. Decorate according to the theme.
A super easy way to incorporate the theme is by coloring the frosting or using sprinkles or small candies that match the theme. Children can also decorate their own, making this a fun activity for a small group of partygoers.
And best of all, muffins taste great to adults too.
3. Ice Cream Bar – The Surest Summer Hit
Offer a few different flavors and toppings for the coolest summer dessert: sprinkles, marshmallows, fruits, and berries. Create "selection points" from trays that excite and delight the partygoers. But remember, this treat is melt-in-your-mouth delicious but also quick to melt on the table ;)
4. Savory Favorites: Mini Pizzas and Sausage Rolls
Make mini pizzas from pre-made dough – there are plenty of recipes online – or buy them ready-made from the store.
Hide sausages by wrapping puff pastry around them so that the ends of the sausages are visible. Or you can also make sausage rolls in the traditional triangular sandwich shape, where the sausages are enclosed within the dough. They can be prepared in advance in no time and disappear quickly into eager mouths.
5. Marshmallow Skewers or Candy Cups
Marshmallows can be skewered in an instant – they are easy to serve and, above all, they look lovely and impressive.
Candy cups or even a candy buffet are also a guaranteed favorite with children. Candies can be pre-portioned into small themed cups for the partygoers – this also helps maintain hygiene. A wonderfully enchanting candy store feel in the form of a candy buffet is also a guaranteed hit – and you don't need a million varieties; a few different candies are enough. You can crown the arrangement with a lovely serving dish.
Remember to consider candies that do not pose a choking hazard for the youngest ones.
6. Theme Drink – The Finishing Touch to the Party
Did you know that juice alone can add a surprising amount of character to a party theme? Yes, it can, it's been tested. Choose juice according to the theme (e.g., green, purple, blue) and serve it from transparent pitchers. You can name the juice(s) something like "magic potion," "power drink," "fairy drink," or even "super drink." All such lovely little imaginative touches appeal to children.
And you can also throw in appropriately colored fruits or berries.
Planning treats is easy when you think about, for example, four categories to help you start brainstorming:
- Fruits and healthy options: fruit skewers, watermelon cake, smoothies
- Sweet and decorative: muffins, candies, marshmallow skewers, cake
- Savory snacks: mini pizzas, sandwiches, chip bowls, popcorn
-
Drinks and finishing touches: juices according to the theme, decorative straws
Here are some wonderful theme tips based on each of our children's party themes. Easy, right?
